Just months after finalizing his divorce, Mike Weirsky of New Jersey hit the jackpot—winning an astonishing $273 million in a Mega Millions lottery. The timing raised eyebrows, especially given that his ex-wife, Eileen Murray, had been ordered to pay him alimony for five years despite his previous inability to hold down a steady job during their 15-year marriage. 
Unsurprisingly, Murray voiced her frustration in an interview, calling the ongoing payments “pocket change” for someone now immensely wealthy. Though she made clear she wasn’t seeking a cut of the winnings, she strongly requested that the alimony arrangement be terminated in light of Mike’s newfound fortune.
