The information circulating on social media that Sportpesa will be back is fake. The exact position of the company is that they re-applied for the license and are waiting for approval from BCLB.
Yesterday, one of Sportpesa loyal client asked in a Facebook post whether they have been issued with a license, here is what they told him:
“SportPesa Care Hello Lwaka, we are hopeful to resume normal operations in Kenya. SportPesa re-applied for a license from the BCLB which would allow us to resume normal operations. We shall let you know on any new development. Thank you for your patience and continued support. ~MO”
Millions of Kenyans are waiting for the company to resume operations but it seems Sportpesa may not return until 2022 when Uhuru and Matiangi won’t be in power. Sources from Sportpesa intimate that it’s CEO Ronald Karauri has tried everything possible to persuade the government to renew the license, but his efforts have been futile. There are claims that the company was participating in money laundering activities, which forced the government to close its paybill account.
The exit of Sportpesa gave way to Betika and currently, almost half of Sportpesa customers are actively betting with Betika. In case Sportpesa returns, Betika will not have otherwise but to be the underdog.
Ours is to wait until Sportpesa resumes for us to start offering accurate jackpot tips for the company. In the meantime, you can bet for Betika, Bet254, Betlion and other remaining jackpots.
